Lady Maelyn Rose's Wassail

  Apple juice into real Yule Wassail (spiced cider)

6 cups of apple juice or cider

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon ginger

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon allspice

6 whole clove spikes

1 quart non-alcoholic beer (or light ale)

1 lemon sliced

1 cup sliced apples baked in brown sugar

The spices should be freshly ground from the spice (cinnamon from the stick, ginger from the root, nutmeg from the seed)Warm all ingredients except the apples and lemon over low heat until well spiced. Serve out into cups immediately, adding a thin slice of lemon and 1or 2 slices of sweet apple to top it as a garnish yummy. If you like, a little sweet cream is nice on this, too. Sliced baked apples: peel and slice an apple, cover with about 1/8 cup each of water and brown sugar. Cook until slices are tender at 350 F. (this is for each batch of wassail above)

Magickal Attributes: Good health, good fortune, happiness, and a prosperous year. Variations: Instead of beer, try adding various flavors of juices or soft wines or mead which match your Magickal goals. For example, with health matters use soft apple wine instead of beer. Or can garnish with a cinnamon stick instead of apples and lemon, or some like it with a peppermint or strawberry candy cane instead.

Lady Maelyn Rose's Fog Nog: The next is an ancient family recipe of the O'Reilly clan (that's been updated over the years, lol)

2 gallons of egg nog,

add 1/5 of Baileys Irish Cream,

1/5 Meyers Rum Cream,

1/5 either white chocolate syrup (available at gourmet supply stores and gourmet markets) or off-white chocolate liqueur

Mix well and add one more gallon of egg nog on top and stir again. (make sure all your liquors are pre chilled) then garnish with 8 to 10 cups whipped cream, and sprinkle cinnamon or chocolate sprinkles on top of whip cream. Can be served with candy canes, licorice twists, or cinnamon sticks as stirrers. Fair warning, one or two cups of this brew and you won't be able to drive, lol. The younger generations of my family affectionately call it "fog nog". :)

Lady BowlBabe's Fresh Fruit Pizza Use 12" or 16" Pans. Makes Two Pizzas

1 pkg. Yellow Cake Mix

1/2cup>Margarine

1/4 cup Brown Sugar

1/4 cup Water

1/2 cup Finely Chopped Nuts

2 Eggs

Combine and mix the above and pat into 2 greased pans. Cook for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. When cool, spread the Whip Cream/ Cream Cheese Mix (below) over entire top. 8 oz. Cool Whip 1/3 cup Sugar 8 oz. Cream Cheese 1/2tsp.Vanilla Combine the above to make the Whip Cream/ Cream Cheese Mix. Chill one ( 1) hour. Top with five (5) different kinds of fresh fruits, well drained and dried. Use Strawberries, Blueberries, Bananas, Kiwi, Peaches, Pineapples, etc. You can dip the Bananas in Pineapple Juice or Lemon Juice to keep them from turning brown. CUT IN HALF FOR ONE PIZZA

I have 4 children....the boys are getting money only cuz that's what they wanted The girls are getting the Telletubbies dolls they wanted as well as the Spice Girls dolls.(took me forever to find "Baby" or Emma) They are also getting some videos that they have been wanting to see. Also new bedding for their beds...one likes Winnie the Pooh and the other likes Mickey Mouse. And of course their stockings will be filled to the rim! lol Hubby and I only fill each others stockings cuz we buy what we want and need during the year. I am making all the "couple" gifts this year.....wooden hearts with lace, beads, and birds. It turned out very nice I must say :)>

Lady Natalie's Magickal Soap

My favorite gift to give is my version of a magical soap.... the kids love to help. We grind the soap up ( i like glycerin ) this is tedious and takes awhile but worth it, then stirring add a touch of water, not too much or it gets soggy. Add my home grown herbs of sage for protection and lemon grass to wake up the skin. Any magical intent herbs will do, combine your own. Spoon into to molds, let dry for a few days.... then i wrap it up in saran wrap (plastic wrap) and tie with a bow. Very pretty. *SMILE* L*

Mosquito bites: Apply Table Salt to moistened area to stop the itching. Apply pennyroyal oil if you are in an area where there is a large population of mosquitoes. This keeps them away. Sage oil does the same thing. For Inflammation with Stings: Apply a paste of Epsom Salt and Vegetable glycerin on the inflamed area and cover with a gauze overnight. The inflammation should be gone by morning.

Pet Care: Flea Wash: 1 cup fresh or dried rosemary to 1 quart of boiling water. Cover and steep until cool. Strain. Wash Dog and rinse well. Pour Herbal liquid on the dog and work in well. Leave the rosemary tea on the dog and let it dry.

Fly Repellent: Crunch equal amounts of Bay leaves, crushed cloves, pennyroyal and eucalyptus. Place in attractive mesh bags and hang close to doors or on your screen door. Flu Tea: Use equal parts of these following herbs: Chamomile Marjoram Peppermint basil, white willow bark parsley ginger Add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Use a tablespoon of the mixture steeped in boiling water for about 15 minutes to make a tea. Repeat as necessary.

Here are a few relaxing baths that Lady Cougar has found here and there.

Wrap the herbs in a cheesecloth and throw in the tub. Bathe in Lavender: 3 parts Lavender 1 part Thyme 1 part comfry root 3 parts Rosemary 2 Parts Spearmint Rosemary Lavender Basil Bath: 2 parts each rosemary, lavender and basil Rose Petal Bath 3 parts rose petals 1 part lavender

Lady Cougar's Bath Salts

1. Try to keep your mind on the purpose of the bath salt as you prepare it

2. For a base salt, use plain epsom salts or combine epsom and table, sea or mineral salts

3. Place approximately 2c. Base salt into a clean dry quart jar

4. Add fragrance and coloring

5. Tightly cap the jar and shake vigorously until well blended.

6. Store bath salts in an airtight, well labeled glass container to prevent them from going stale and to prevent future identification problems..

Sacred Rites Salts (use before a spell or ritual) 10 drops lemon oil 10 drops lavender oil 5 drops cinnamon oil 5 drops jasmine oil 5 drops anise oil Coloring: Dark Blue or Green Bright Aura Salts (to remove bad vibes from personal energy) 15 drops peppermint oil 10 drops lavender oil 10 drops vanilla extract 5 drops almond extract No Coloring.

Dream Time Salts (to enhance dream recall) 10 drops jasmine oil 5 drops lavender oil 5 drops orange oil Coloring: Light Blue

Personal Power Salts (increase your personal energy levels) 10 drops of your favorite scent 10 drops lemon oil 5 drops peppermint oil 5 drops orange oil Coloring: Your Choice

*** Note: Clean the tub with a baking soda paste after taking a magickal bath.

Facial Scrub: Put into a blender equal parts of: Almond paste Honey Egg Butter (real butter not margarine) Oatmeal Blend until coarse but not gritty, do not add grated apricot pits. They are too harsh for your skin. And with any facial scrub, don't rub too hard. It can cause unsightly facial blood vessels to be prominent and noticable with older age years (like after 45).

Facial Mask: Mix in a bowl with a wooden spoon: 2 tablespoons plain yogurt 1 tablespoon raw honey Mix until thoroughly blended. Then smooth on face and leave for 20 to 30 minutes. Gently wash away with mild facial soap and you'll feel as soft as a baby's bottom with a healthy glow.

Estringent: Remove the skin from one large cucumber. Cut up into small chunks and put into blender and blend until smooth without lumps. Then after soaping face and before a mask, apply with a cotton ball or beauty pad. Will remove deep down dirt out of pores and refresh tired skin. And both blender recipes can be put into a food processor instead if wished.
